Emily's Favorite "White Dress"

When it comes to folding clothes, Emily loves to find her favorite dress up - her pretend "white dress."  Emily is great at digging through the fresh laundry I am folding to find my mom's garment top to use as a wedding dress.  She loves the silky feel of it and dances around in it while I fold all the clothes.  The other day I caught her putting it on Logan - silly girl!  I love Emily's love for the temple and the way she seems to dream of going there someday.  She often comments that she is going to go there when she gets big.  Emily has said lately, "I'm getting bigger mom!"
her love for the temple is contagious!  We sing the song, "I Love to See the Temple" often.  It is one of Lily's favorite songs and I know she will be anxious to go there too someday.

Barbies

Lily and Emily love to play Barbies together.  It is exciting to see the girls begin to exchange in their play rather than just parallel play.  Emily loves to pretend and tries hard to get Lily to join in.  Lily is beginning to pretend with dolls by mimicking movements and routines like bedtime, eating, and dancing.  She definitely learns a lot from Emily as she watches her ever move.  I love it when they are happy, getting along, and sharing lots.  My heart knows they will have such a sweet relationship throughout their lives as sisters.

Logan - Big Smiler & Sweet Sleeper

Logan is becoming a big smiler for us all!  He shares more and more smiles every day.  I love seeing his eyes sparkle as he smiles.  It seems he may have a dimple like me too!  Logan is becoming more of a snuggler too!  I love feeling his heart beat and quick breaths as we snuggle together.  He is the sweetest boy!

Silly Lily

thinking back on this past year, I often ponder how much Lily has grown since moving to Salt Lake.  One of the biggest areas of growth for her is her personality.  She has really blossomed!  I love her sweet smiles, mischievous eyes, strong will (it is still challenging at times), contagious giggle, and tender snuggles.  She loves her binkies, princesses, dresses, family, and books.  Lily is surely a spark of fun for all around.  Over the past few weeks Lily has begun to sing to herself.  I love trying to decode the songs she sings like, "I am a Child of God," "I Love to See the Temple," princess songs, and "Popcorn."  It is amazing to see her shout out the name of a princess song when listening to music only after the first few measures.  Lily is definitely a princess trivia all-star.  As we tuck the girls into bed, Lily says the cutest prayers.  She has caught on to saying thank you for people and the adventures of the day.  As I help Lily pray she will list toys, family members, and highlights of the day all on her own.  I love her sweet reminders of the blessings we have each day.  She is truly one of our greatest blessings!

Outdoor Fun

With perfect weather to play outside, much of our day is outdoors.  The girls love to explore outside in water, the dirt, at the park, on walks, and with their toys.  We have taken the opportunity to explore some new parks together.  I love watching them try new things at the park like climbing ladders and going down slides by themselves.
Emily calls swimming suites "swimming soups."  The girls love to wear their swimming soups while washing the car, running through the sprinklers, or playing in the tiger pool.  I have loved watching them spend the afternoon outside.

The sandbox is a great textile experience for the girls.  The only challenge with playing in the dirt is they get really dirty!  All worth the fun for sure!

The other day we went on a walk as a "baby stroller parade."  I walked Logan in the stroller behind the two girls pushing their baby dolls in their strollers.  Our walks are not far in distance, but long in time as they love to explore the rocks and flowers along the way - especially Lily!

Eyelashes

Like Lily and Emily, I think Logan is going to take after his daddy's eyes.  Just this last week it seems his eyeslashes have darkened and thickened.  I know he will have some handsome eyes for sure. Now I just wonder if they will be blue or hazel like mine?

Sisters

Emily and Lily are becoming such good friends.  They love to play with each other - most of the time.  Most of the time they want to be sure to be with each other.  Over the past few weeks they have begun to play with each other more.  Emily cannot wait for naptime to end to play again with Lily.  The girls love to read books together, play with princesses, sing songs, jump on the trampoline, and chase each other.  I love the way Lily watches Emily so intensely.  She mimics her every move!  In return I love the way Emily watches out for Lily.  She tries to console her when she is sad, shares her toys, reads books to her, and pushes her in the stroller.  Emily is also so sweet with Logan.  I often have to push her away when she is giving him too many kisses.  I am so grateful Lily and Emily have each other.  I think there is no better friend than a sister as I count my sisters as my best friends.

Sweet Satisfied Sleeper

Sometimes after Logan eats he rests for a minute with his eyes closed asleep.  I love watching my babies (all 3 of them) sleep.  As I gaze upon them I wonder what life's adventures will be for them.  I can't help but find excitement for the possibilities ahead and worry about their challenges.  I want so much for them to have the best and to be the best mom I can for them.  I am so grateful to be a mom and to be entrusted in their care.  I know these three angels are mine forever and for that I am eternally grateful.

Logan - 1 Month

It is hard to believe our "Little Man" is 1 month old.  We love our Logan and are so grateful to have him in our home.  It is hard to imagine life without his calm, handsome spirit around.  Logan is a bright spot in our life for sure.  He is loved by all - especially his sisters.
  • Eats every 3-4 hours with a good routine of eating, sleeping, and playing.
  • Loves to stretch during playtime.  He loves to observe lights and his sisters playing.  I love the way he stretches from his head down to his toes.
  • Finds comfort with his hands near his face.  He likes to be swaddled with his left hand by his face.
  • Shares a few coos and slight smiles with mommy.

Logan's Blessing Day

Our handsome little man, Logan, was blessed on May 1, 2016.  It was a special day filled with a sweet spirit and enjoyed by family.  We loved celebrating Logan with everyone.  He looked so handsome in his tender blessing suite from Nana and Grandpa.  Nelson gave Logan a wonderful blessing.  Some of the blessings he was given from Heavenly Father I remember were:
  • Spirit of service and kindness
  • To one day serve a mission for Heavenly Father in which Logan will love the people he serves.
  • Logan will be an influence for good to those around him
  • Blessing to one day marry in the temple and make those sacred covenants
  • To know Logan is in a home where he is a good fit and loved dearly
I am so grateful Logan is a part of our family.  I love him so very much.  He radiates such a tender, loving spirit to all around him.  It is neat to see my two girls interact and love him.  Emily loves to look at him and give him many kisses.  Each night before bed she has to be sure to give him a good night kiss.  Lily too loves to kiss and play with him.  I know they all will share special sibling bonds.  Together Nelson and I too share tender connections with this sweet boy Logan.  I know we are so lucky to have him.
