Hats off to Emily

Emily is a fashion queen when it comes to hats.  She loves to try on her hats, among other things like swimsuits and bloomers.  Once it is on her head, she then looks for her audience and says, "Cheese!"  She is a doll!  

Besides fashioning hats, Emily also has discovered how to dance.  She rocks back and forth to music, the washer, and songs in her head.  The other day she found a "platform" of sorts at the library and performed for everyone.  Emily would get in the bookshelf dance by shaking her fists and rock back and forth.  She would then jump off, exclaiming, "Yeah!"  The library was entertained for over a half hour!

 

 

Emily is also learning how to use a fork and build towers.  She is growing up too fast!

 

 

 

Nana's Awesome Photography

My favorite picture from the trip was taken at Thanksgiving Point Farm by my mom.  It is such a darling picture that I wanted to post it separately.  What a cute girl I have!!!

Nana and Grandpa Visit

My mom was gracious enough to come home with me to St. George to help with Emily in the car.  I have travelled the road alone a few times, but felt like it might be safer to have a passenger to help entertain Emily.  It was fun to delay our goodbyes and have Nana and Grandpa visit for a few days.  We enjoyed playing at the park.  Emily was excited to show off her tricks to climb the stairs and ride the slide by herself - lots!

 

We went to the River Walk and splashed in the water.  I won the prize for getting the wettest.  I know Emily and I will visit here often this summer.

 

After a real life carousel ride at the Thanksgiving Point Farm, we tried the musical carousel near the River Walk.

Most of all we enjoyed playing at home with toys, going for walks, and just being together with cute Emily to share giggles with.

May Vacation with the Handy's

Emily and I spent a week with my parents.  We enjoyed our time with them and visiting family and friends.  My parents were great to help me take pictures often to capture the fun we had and keep the memories close.  My mom is becoming quite the photographer!

 

Our visit began with a picnic lunch at Sissa's school.  Emily loved eating in a place filled with lots of kids!  She especially loved seeing Sissa.  They were instant buddies!  I believe Emily and Sissa are kindred spirits because they have a similar fun-loving, spunky character.  Growing up, Sissa and I shared a room, making our relationship close.  I admire her as a sister and keep her close as a friend.  I know Emily will do the same.

 

 

This next group of photos shows Emily being silly with Sissa and Nana.  Sissa was sweet to come play with us after work.  Emily loved playing "peek-a-boo" with her.  The middle image shows when Sissa put a sicker on her bottom - silly girls!!

 

 

Most days followed the same routine we have here at home in St. George, but with the added company of my parents and Sissa.  Of course we played outside lots!!!  Emily loved all the bikes, balls, wagons, and toys in Nana's garage. 

 



 

Emily also loved to jump on the tramp, especially with Nana as a jumping buddy.  With her hair in static formation, Emily was a real-life science experiment.

 

 

 

I think Emily got the green thumb gene.  She loved shopping for flowers for Great-Grandma and Nana's yard and pretending to mow the lawn.  I love the "cheesy" grin in the top two pictures.

 

 

One day we explored Thanksgiving Point's Farm with my mom.  We loved seeing the horses, rabbits, goats, and chickens.  There were quite a few goats that were pregnant, some with multiples.  Whew!  A lot of work for them.  Emily loved rides a real life carousel, although she was timid at first. 

 

 

Emily loved having a backseat partner in our car rides- Nana.  She even had a chance to ride in Grandpa's car and watch Frozen.  This made car ride so much more fun!

 

 

Whatever the day's adventure held, we had so much fun with our families.  We are already looking forward to visiting again.  With the baby coming soon it might not be until the fall, but we look forward to visitors here until then!
