Splish Splash

Summer days are filled with fun in water: at the Splash Park, backyard swimming pool, in the sprinklers, and playing with buckets of water.  The girls seem to automatically ask for their "swimming soups" after Lily's nap.  Lily is getting quite brave to go in the pool since swimming with her cousins recently.  I love being in the sunshine with them and watching them play together.

Peterson Staycation

With the Ragner Relay Race this weekend, the girls have enjoyed a little "Staycation" with Ben, Natalie "Nanny," and Camden.  They have loved their snuggles and giggles.  We enjoyed swimming outside for many hours and going to the Museum of Natural Curiosity together.  Emily loved tagging along with the "big kids." Lily and Logan loved all their attention.  I loved seeing my kids have so much fun with their cousins who are such good friends to them.

Thanksgiving Point Farm

My Aunt Emily and her son Jake are in town for the Ragnar Race this weekend.  They invited us on an adventure to the Thanksgiving Point Farm.  The girls loved seeing the animals, joining in the Melody Makers Music fun, and riding the horses.  I was pleasantly surprised both girls rode the horses happily.  In fact, they wanted to do it again!  Emily was brave to feed the goats and Lily tried by saying, "Come here!"  She didn't get too close to feed them though.  They are cowgirls in training!

Toddler Driver's License

Lily has learned how to use a push car herself!  She is smart to know that going downhill is a lot easier than uphill.  Lily will push and ride the car downhill and then get off the push it up the hill.  She loves to drive past the neighbors house and look for the kitty.

Sunday Best

The girls and Logan received matching outfits from the Easter Bunny in March.  Today, Logan was able to wear his outfit for the first time.  I was able to catch a quick picture with them all looking and happy.  I love these 3 sweethearts more than words can say.  They make life an adventure every day.

Papa Stories

Grandpa loves to read stories with the girls and they love it!  I can remember as a child reading books with my dad before bed and going to school.  He is a great story teller.  I am so grateful for the extra hands I have with him and my mom at this time as we live with them.  I know my girls love spending time with them too!

Princess Lily

Lily is a girly girl.  She loves to dress up, dance and sing in her skirt, play with princesses, and pretend with babies.  It has been fun to see her imagination grow over the past few weeks.  She is starting to pretend with her dolls.  I love hearing her sing and talk as she plays.  Lily is a ray of sunshine in our home with a bit of mischievous fun.

Logan 2 Months

Logan is 2 months old and oh so sweet.  Our handsome little man is looking more like an infant than a newborn.  He has set into some routines and brings so much joy to our home.  Here are some highlights about Logan:
  • Smiles and coos - especially at Mommy and Nana.  He can be found smiling and laughing with himself as he stares at the fan or chandelier.
  • Loves to be swaddled in soft blankets even though it is quite warm outside.
  • Enjoys stretching from his head to his toes on the floor.
  • Loves his sisters, but sometimes they love him too much!
  • Eats every 3 hours, except during 4-8 pm he eats every 2 hours.  He can sleep 4 hours at night.
  • Likes to be outside.
  • Seems to enjoy quieter, simple things than busy things.  Logan is not yet fond of the floor mat as he would rather observe people and his surroundings.
  • Great snuggler with Mommy.

Tummy Time

Logan loves to lay on the floor and stretch from his head to his toes.  I love watching him stretch and giggle.  Logan is learning to like tummy time too.  I couldn't help but take a picture the other day in his cute monkey bum outfit.

Ever Emily

Emily is my little helper at home.  Most of the time she is a great help with Lily and Logan.  She loves them tenderly (with a few arguments with Lily at times).  I love the hugs and kisses Emily share often and the way she enjoys playing with Lily.  Each night as I tuck her into bed, Emily is wiped out asleep.  She works and plays hard every day.  It is hard to believe she will be 4 in a few months.  Time is going by so quickly!

Fun in the Sun

Our summer days are filled with fun in the sunshine!  The girls love to explore in the water, dirt, and sunshine.  I love it too!  Their swimsuits and popsicles are a standby for sure.  Emily is quite brave in the water, while Lily stands back a little.  However, she is far from shy in the dirt.  Lily loves the dirt!!  One day I thought it would be a good idea to let her play in the dirt in her swimsuit.  It ended up being a muddy mess and she wanted to experiment with putting water and dirt together to make mud!  Yuck!  The positive side of it was that since she was in her swimsuit I just had to rinse her off in the hose!  She didn't like that too much.  I guess we both learned a lesson - dirt and swimsuits don't mix together.  While the girls play in the dirt and water, Logan enjoys swinging!  It is a great place for a nap.

Bookworm

Emily has always been my little bookworm.  I love her passion for reading and books.  The girls and I love to go to the library (or as they call it the "Dragon Store" for the dragon hanging up inside).  We go at least once a week, but most often twice.  The girls love the princess books and we rotate through them weekly with the same favorites.  However, we are finding some new ones - hooray!  On library days, Emily has a hard time breaking free from her new books.  She will read them most of the afternoon and then can't wait to explore them the following day.  I am always amazed at the way she can retell a story once you have read just one time to her.  Emily is also great at reading story by the pictures.  I am grateful that her passion for reading and books is shared with Lily.  I love the way Lily mimics Emily reading.  It is especially fun to see Emily read stories to Lily.
