A Trip Home

We were thrilled to be able to venture home with Nelson as he took his license exam February 23.  We planned to head home, Sunday, February 22.  However, due to a forecast of heavy storms, my parents graciously drove down on Saturday to pick us up.  Thankfully we missed the 3 inches of snow that fell the following day.  Nelson did an AMAZING job on his exam - he passed!  We were more than thrilled.  I didn't need this silly piece of paper to tell me he was a well-qualified social worker!  He is the best in my book!  Nelson soon headed home back to work, while the girls and I stayed to visit for a few days.

Emily loved to play at Grandma's house in her basement and of course outside at the "park."  She couldn't get enough of the bike and slide.  We also had a fun play date with Addie.  The weather was beautiful, so we enjoyed a trip to a park getting messy while playing in the sand.  Emily even had a taste of it - YUCK!  On another day we had fun eating lunch a Grandma's work.  She is in a new building with a whole wall as a whiteboard.  WOW!  Emily loved to color on the walls, but I hope she doesn't think you can on every wall.

The girls also loved to explore and play at Nana's house.  My parents have kept toys from my childhood that line shelves in the basement.  There were so many to pick from and enjoy.  Emily's favorites were the little people.  She is such a good pretender with them all.  Besides enjoying the toys at Nana's house, we had fun visiting family, going to the Disney Store downtown, and playing with cousins.  As I look back we didn't really go many places because we had so much fun just being with family.  We are already looking forward to the next trip!
