Frozen Fever

Lily loves the movie Frozen!!!  She constantly wants to watch "Elsa, Anna, and Olaf."  Of coarse, the songs are some of her favorite parts.  Each time I turn it on she exclaims in excitement, dances around, and then finds her favorite spot by the couch to stand.  As Lily watches Frozen, she can't help but smile - big and small grins.  I love watching her as the movie plays.  She is a princess loving girl for sure - just like her sister.

Easter 2016

For a few weeks I have been talking to Emily about the Easter bunny coming to visit soon.  We talked about how it would bring her a new dress to wear to church to celebrate Jesus' resurrection.  Emily loves to go to church to sing songs, meet with friends, and attend primary.  I love seeing her desire sparkle as she often asks to go during the week and anticipates "church day."  Emily was thrilled to get a "yellow dress" and white shoes like my "married shoes."  Lily loved finding "treats" in the eggs and ate many that morning.  It was fun to see them find joy in their gifts.  My greatest gift is my little eternal family that is brought about through the atonement and resurrection of my Savior.  Through Him I can live with my family forever.

Sweet Bakers

I have many fond memories of making cookies with my mom in the kitchen.  The girls love to make cookies with me.  They are especially good at taste testing the chocolate chips and dough.

Table Setting

While making dinner the other day, Emily began to set the table.  She eagerly got out the placemats, silverware, plates, and bowls.  Without any prompting from me, Emily set enough places for everyone - mommy, daddy, Lily, Nana, Grandpa, and herself.  I giggled as she talked to herself about who sat where and what supplies were needed.  I was impressed with the way she set out enough places, placed the right silverware, and even put some cheese on her and Lily's plates.  It was a teaching moment to me how much Emily learns by watching me.  A sweet helper indeed!

Grandma's Easter Egg Hunt

On Sunday we enjoyed time with the Yates' at their FHE and Easter Egg Hunt.  The girls loved finding and uncovering their treasures in Grandma's backyard with cousins.  Treasures of bubbles, chalk, stickers, and bracelets were perfect to find in their eggs.  They are some of their favorite things.  I loved watching them giggle and discover the eggs around the yard.  The best part of the day was being with family.

Baby Brother

We are all anticipating baby brother's soon arrival in a few short weeks.  We have been getting the house ready for his arrival.  His bed, carseat, and bouncy chair are all ready for him.  Emily has moved her carseat to the back row in the van so that she can watch over baby brother.  She has been so excited to have his carseat in the car for which I am grateful for.  The past two days the girls have loved playing with his bouncy chair and carseat.  As each of them sit in those chairs, I can hardly believe they were so tiny in them at one time.  Growing up seems to happen too fast.

I believe Emily is especially anticipating the arrival of her baby brother.  She will tell me and others that baby brother is coming after the Easter Bunny comes.  Emily has been excited to get out his car seat, bassinet, and clothes.  When I ask her what baby brother's name is, Emily says, "Mommy's tummy?"  The past few weeks Emily has really taken to helping with Lily - changing diapers, getting her dressed, and even at times sharing toys.  I am excited to see her interact with our little boy.  I believe she will be a big helper!  The other day Emily was playing with the doctor kit.  She sweetly did a check up on me like Doc McStuffins.  I even caught her doing a checkup on baby brother and giving him a "diagnosis."  Cute big sister!

I love it when Lily and Emily snuggle with me and end up placing their hands gently on my tummy.  It is like they are giving their little brother a love.  I know this little boy will be greatly loved by both of them.

Spring Fever

The weather has really started to show signs of spring which has made for some outdoor fun.  The girls have spent many hours outside the past few weeks to catch up on some much needed sunshine we have missed over the past few months.  They love to blow bubbles, ride bikes and scooters, and go to the park.

Emily is becoming quite adventurous at the park.  She will try many of the climbing areas and slides all by herself - a big change from her anxious self in the fall.  I love watching her try new things and be proud of her confidence.  Emily is quick to giggle and say, "Watch mommy!  I did it by myself!"

Lily has loved the freedom outside time has offered her.  She loves to explore the plants, dirt, rocks, and grass.  I think she has a little bit of a green thumb like her Great-Grandpa & Grandma White - whom she is named after.  I am grateful she is not eating it like she was in the fall.  I love the smiles the sunshine is bringing this spring.
