Now that Emily has a library card we visit the library once or twice a week.  She loved pulling the books off the shelf and reading out loud to anyone that will listen.

10 Months

It seems like yesterday my sweet Little Tink joined our family, but yet I cannot remember life without her.  Life is so much more enjoyable with her spontaneous, spunky, and silly personality.  We love celebrating her big and small signs of growth, and hope she doesn't grow up too fast.  Here a few highlights of this month:

  • Emily is an excellent mover and traveler.  She was a trooper throughout our busy 'moving season.'
  • Emily loves to help dust and fold clothes - although she is better at unfolding ;)
  • She loves to be tickled, especially under her chin.
  • Emily loves her daddy.  She calls him by name, "Da-da."  When he comes home, it seems she cannot stop calling to him.
  • Emily loves to pull things out of boxes, drawers, and bags.
  • She is a great talker and babbles often.  Some of her favorite phrases are: mama, dada, ttt, ahh, and raspberries.
  • Emily loves to make noise by drumming things, kicking her legs, and bagging toys together.
  • During our move, Emily enjoyed playing and seeing both sets of her grandparents.
  • Nana and Sissa came to visit.  Emily loved the company and field trips galore.
  • Emily has learned to scoot on her bum to get around.  She doesn't quite understand she is moving, but has had some "ah-ha" moments.
  • Emily loves books.  She loves to turn the pages and read out loud to anyone that will listen.  She even has her own library card.
  • Emily loves to snuggle and is learning to give kisses.  We love the slobbery ones she gives freely!!!

My 1st Piggy Tail

Emily hair continues to grow and grow!!!  She has some natural curl in it that provides its own due, no matter how you come it.  Today I had success in putting it in a piggy tail.  She was a cute little "Bam-Bam!"

Sissa and Nana Visit

This past week Nana and Sissa came for a visit.  We enjoyed spending some time with them visiting local, historic sites, the river walk, and playing games.  Emily loved the company and friends to play with.  She especially loved all the attention!!!!  We cannot wait for visitors to come again soon!

Dinosaur Museum

With Sissa and Nana here, we decided to go on a field trip to the Johnson Family Dinosaur Park.  This museum features well-preserved dinosaur tracks, fossil fish and plants, and rare dinosaur remains.  It is one of three sites in the world with preserved dinosaur footprints.  Seeing that Melissa and I taught our 4th graders about dinosaurs and fossils, it was fun to take Emily there on a "4th Grade Field Trip."

At the beginning of our visit, the museum shows a short video.  Here is Emily captivated by the dinosaur story:

Stroller Baby

Emily is the cutest girl!!!  She loves to go on walks with me.  As she rides in her stroller she jabbers away and then works to play peek-a-boo with me by tilting her head back to see me through the visor of the umbrella.  What a silly girl!

Playing with & in the Bucket

Emily loves to dump out all the toys in her toy bucket and then play with the bucket itself.  When Nana and Sissa came to visit, they loved to place her inside the bucket.  It brought back memories when my siblings used to stuff me in the garbage can for fun.
