Library Noisemaker

Emily loves to go to the library!  We often go a few times a week.  One of Emily's favorite past-times to do while we are there is to climb the stairs in the children's section and read stories.  Today as she did so, she sang and read as loud as she could.  I am sure everyone heard her version of Goodnight Moon many times.  I tried to quiet her, but at the same time it was to cute to not be heard.

Rockin' Out

Emily has discovered how to climb in and out of her rocking chair.  A shout out to her independence!

Playing with Blocks

Today I got out some unifex cubes for one of my tutoring sessions.  Emily loves to play with the "new toy."  She stacked and unstacked the blocks, placed them up on the piano, and spun the container around.  It made for a great afternoon of fun!  I love watching Emily discover new toys in everyday objects.

A New Ride

A few weeks ago we had an unfortunate occurrence, our umbrella stroller was stolen off our front porch.  I was sad because we use the stroller a lot - 2 to 3 times a day!!!  We have a bigger stroller, but it is difficult to get in and out of the house.  For our Saturday outing today, we decided to explore "Kid-to-Kid" store to see what strollers they may have - umbrella strollers and double strollers.  With the anticipation of our new little one in July/August, we have also been looking at double strollers online.  We had one in mind, but wanted to see if we could get it on sale or from a previous owner.  Our luck we have us find a brand new double stroller that had only been used once at Kid-to-Kid for a great price.  Emily loves her new ride and we are excited for our new arrival to share it with her.  Fortunately too, my sister Jennie sent an unused umbrella stroller to use with Emily in the meantime.  We are grateful for these blessings so that we can continue to enjoy our walks in beautiful approaching springtime weather.

Waiting for Daddy

Emily often wants to look out the window.  As she peers over the window ledge, Emily babbles about what she may see, especially doggies.  Emily's favorite thing to spy while looking out the window is her Daddy on his way home from work.  She sure loves to play with him and is always excited to see him come home, as do I.

Playing Outside

St. George is cooler than Arizona, but warmer than Salt Lake, making it the "ideal" in our minds when it comes to weather.  There is rarely snow here (except the storm we saw in December - once in every 75 years) so that we may enjoy being outside all year.  During the winter it can be brisk that a walk is doable, but playing outside is a bit cold.  Today was one of the warmest days of the year so far, so we enjoyed a day playing outside on a blanket.  Emily sure loved it!!!  She is a girl with my outdoor heart, always seeking to find a way to be outside somehow.

Spoon Feeding

Emily has a strong-willed, independent personality.  She loves to pretend to be a "big kid" and do things herself.  We rejoice in her independence and are excited to see her grow, while holding onto keeping her a baby.

One of Emily's independent actions involves uses a spoon herself.  She is working on using this tool to feed herself, but also loves to mix, drum, and mash with it.  Emily is sure cute!
